Yesterday(happy bday!!!!)
Yesterday went to the Sentosa Flower show. I got lots of nice pics. I'll upload them next time...
Nicole's bday party rocked! HAPPY BDAY NIKKI!(if you're reading this) Got there and met Natalie. Huiting told us that she smsed Nicole she was sick, and couldn't make it. Me & Natalie knew that she was gonna show up with the cake. Fun! Then Dorathea came and hung out with her. When Kenneth came we all just ignored him, and he had this totally sweet bouqet made out of ferrero roche(sp?) wrappers. It was super cool!
Then we all played splat and murderer. I haven't had so much fun in a long time...

Happy Chinese New Year!!!
This CNY was one of the most interesting. It really made me think about family, and appreciate them more. Like, because my moms' side of the family is in America I don't see them often. And I really miss them, come to think about it...
Anyway, family. What is it? To some people it might be huge, some small. And some might have none at all, but what about your
FAMILY? What I mean by
FAMILY is, friends, anuties, uncles & loved ones. They're your family too. They might not have ANY real relation to you, but they're still your family.
Funny, this CNY didn't really seem long and tiring as it usually does. I guess I enjoyed myself. Okok. I DID enjoy myself, quite a bit. And, not just because of the hongbao and stuff. Because of...family.

I miss them. But I got one big, huge FAMILY right here in Singapore. So, I'm happy.
Weekend (CNY service & introducions)
The CNY service was sooo fun! I helped with rara-ing.
Then, came the dance. Super funny! Smiled during the thing till my cheeks hurt. My brain and my heart were saying to different things. Heart:smile, it's for the kids. Brain:ouch! stop smiling you idiot!. Me: Smile. Then suck cheeks in, and after the dance I felt my face frozen in a smile. So I was massaging my cheeks like insane. HURT LIKE CRAZY. When I smiled after service I felt a little twinge of pain. So, ouch.
After service was also funny. Standing with Ryan & Darren. I said something to Darren in chinese. Then they were trying to get me to say something else. I just said, 'Bu yao.' Then Ryan was using cruel irony and said,'Wow! Amberlie's speaking CHINESE! I'm so amazed.' Me: 'Whatever!' I laughed after that. But the whole time, my brain was saying:OW,OW,OW! STOP IT YOU IDIOT!' Finally I managed to stop smiling. It's hard to laugh and not smile at the same time.

Friends.
Bored. VERY VERY VERY BORED. So I'll write. Nothing to write about though. Well, lately I've been thankful for all the friends that I have. So here:
Abby:You rule. I'll never forget how many times we've talked, laughed and just hung out together. You are just...wow. I don't even know how to describe you. You're just amazing.
Piying: Same. You rock. You're the sweetest, most cheer-up-est person I've ever met. You have your quirks, true. But they're what make you Piying.
Natalie:Most encouraging, and faithful friend ever. No matter how many times I've been annoying or have bugged you, you still hang out with me. BTW, your singing rocks.
Nicole:Ditto. We can sometimes have our spats, but you are still a totally dear friend. And your dancing is super good...
Dorathea:I dunno if you read my blog but, I gotta write this. You are the nicest, most caring person I've met. No matter how many times I've bugged you with smses and stuff, you still stick by me. You are a real BRIO girl.
Huiting:Totally encouraging in every situation. And always have shown wisdom no matter what, you are COOL. Ice cold.
Persis:Also, dunno if you read my blog. But, whatever. During 2008 'You' camp, I got to know you more. It was great hanging with you then, and I still have fun hanging wit you on saturday.
Ben Leow:Leon. What can I say? You are annoying. You drive me INSANE. But a good kind of insane. The kind of insane that makes me feel like I could handle anything.
Ryan:YANR! You also drive me insane with your crazy antics. But, you always make me laugh. Even when I'm totally out of it, you make me laugh till my stomach hurts...
I can't write anymore, my fingers hurt. Everyone else who I didn't mention: Know you are valued, treasured & loved!!! You all rock & rule!!!!!!!!!

Weekend! (cheezels & weird phone calls)
This week was weird. So I'll start from the beginning:
Saturday-Went to band practice. After that did nothing with Abby & Nicole. Then, got left behind on the way to lunch. Helped Aunty Rena with some CNY stuff. Went to MegaLife, and had cell...The usual.
Sunday-Got to church and practiced. Then after 2nd service had Cheezels' party. Here are some highlights: 1.Sang this TOTALLY COOL acepella thing. 2.It was totally touching, and almost everyone cried. (meaning almost all the girls. the guys were trying to be macho, but you could still see tears in their eyes.)

I was just thinking back on this month and last year. I've noticed somthing very repetitive: I'm camera-shy.
I guess I've grown up in a culture where people turn away from the camera. Also, I -
basically all the time- look awful in photos. Maybe it's not that I look awful, it's just not that I'm not used to looking at myself. I mean, when was the last time you spent half your time infront of the mirror (a)blowing kisses at yourself (b)trying to fix you hair, checking your lipgloss or just looking in the mirror to diss your looks??? (b)? I thought so. And people who do (a), you really need counselling...
Or, the emo version of why I don't like photos is that: It does't show soul. I mean, when you smile and look at the camera does it show how you are with your friends? Does it tell you how much you love you mom and dad? No, you just see a picture of a person smiling at the camera. You just see a mask. True, you can see through the picture that that person is nice looking, cool or likes to smile. But it doesn't really SHOW the real person.

Weekend (megalife bulliten)
My weekend was WIERD. As usual. So, here's what happened:
Saturday-I agreed to act for this skit thing. So I walked to church with Natalie. It was sooo weird. I only can plead insanity on my case for agreeing to acting and not walking out...Well, that was just the first part of the day. Lunch was only ok. Nothing much there. It was after MegaLife that weird stuff started happening.
Well after I got home and had been reading. I remembered the Megalife bulliten. I just decided to read it, because I was bored. And I started reading
from the back. Once I'd gotten to the MHS testimonies I wanted to put down the bulliten. My MHS attemps had failed miserably, why bother? But
something kept me reading. And by the time I'd read the last -well, first. I started reading from the back, remember?- page of testimonies I felt like crying. As I wrote in my diary, 'Ordinary people, ordinary lives, but one AMAZING God.'
Sunday-Had to do the skit thing, and once again: I plead insanity to anyone who asks me why I did it at all. And after the second service I worked on the song me & Natalie wrote. I can't believe Ben/Kenneth thought it was nice! I felt really weird sharing it. Like kinda strange. Well, suprise, suprise!

Cinderella
I went to Cinderella (the musical) yesterday, and it was
AMAZING!!! It was way better than the Nutcracker, though I'd been more hyped up about that one. The set, actors, dancing...well EVERYTHING was great! I just loved it. That's all I have to say.
I can't wait 4 the weekend! i'll have something to do!!!

Weekend (was that reality?)
Well, lately weird stuff has been happening. I'll give an example through saturday.
Went to band practice. But didn't feel like singing. I was totally tired cause I couldn't sleep the whoooooole night. Then, during megalife I started doing random stuff in my notebook. Writing poems/songs...well attempting really. They don't make any sense.
Today was ok. Celebrated Bentons b'day. HAPPY B'DAY BENTON!!!!!!! And signed his b'day boxer card. I can't believe Ryan thought of that! IT IS SO WRONG.
